For all business sizes
Ongoing WordPress Partnership
From $800/month for small and medium businesses and $2,000/month for enterprises
Senior WordPress engineering on a retainer. Your platform stays stable, secure, and continuously improved without the overhead and risk of hiring full-time.
When WordPress Support Falls Short
Most businesses either have no ongoing WordPress support or they have a maintenance plan that handles updates and nothing else. When something breaks, or degrades slowly enough that nobody notices, there is no engineer available who actually understands the platform.
Updates Without Engineering
Plugin updates applied without testing. One bad update breaks the checkout or takes down a critical integration. There is no one available who understands the codebase well enough to fix it fast.
No Institutional Knowledge
Every developer who touches the platform leaves without documentation. The next one starts from scratch. Technical debt compounds and nobody has the full picture of how things fit together.
Always Reactive, Never Proactive
Performance degrades gradually until it becomes a crisis. Security vulnerabilities sit unpatched. Problems only get addressed after they cause damage. The platform always feels one incident away from a bad week.
What Is Included
This is not a ticket-based support plan. It is ongoing technical ownership. The same engineer, month after month, who knows your platform and keeps it ahead of problems.
Tested Updates
Plugin, theme, and WordPress core updates applied with regression testing before going live. Not automated batch updates applied and forgotten.
Security Monitoring and Hardening
Ongoing vulnerability tracking, server-side configuration checks, and active response when a threat is flagged. Your platform is hardened continuously, not just at launch.
Performance Monitoring
Continuous tracking of Core Web Vitals, database query performance, and load times. Issues are flagged and addressed before users notice them.
Priority Development Hours
Dedicated monthly hours for feature development, bug fixes, and improvements. No waiting for a new project estimate every time you need something done.
Monthly Reporting
Clear summary of all work completed, performance trends, security status, and anything flagged for your attention. No black box. You always know what was done and why.
Direct Access
Slack or email access to me directly. No ticket queue, no account manager, no junior developer relaying messages. You reach the person doing the work.
Who This Is For
This partnership works best when WordPress is central to how your business operates, not a side asset someone checks on once a month.
This works well when
- You run a revenue-critical WordPress platform: WooCommerce, membership site, editorial system, or donation platform
- Your internal developer left and no one owns the platform anymore
- You are an agency that needs senior WordPress engineering available for client work without hiring full-time
- You have tried basic maintenance plans and realized updates and backups are not the same as engineering
- You need someone who stays across the codebase long-term, not a developer who parachutes in for one-off fixes
This is probably not the right fit when
- Your site rarely changes and has no business-critical functionality
- You already have a senior WordPress engineer on your team
- You only need one-time project work with no ongoing requirement
- Your budget for WordPress support is under $800 per month
Process
How We Get Started
Every partnership begins with a clear understanding of your platform. No assumptions, no generic playbook applied to your codebase.
STEP 1
Platform Assessment
Before the retainer starts, I audit your codebase, database, hosting environment, and plugin stack. You get a clear picture of the current state and what needs attention first.
STEP 2
Retainer Setup
We define scope, communication channels, monthly hour allocation, and priorities. You know exactly what is covered, what is out of scope, and how to reach me.
STEP 3
Ongoing Engineering
Monthly cadence of updates, monitoring, and development work. Priority queue managed between us. No surprises, no gaps in coverage, no scrambling when something needs attention.

Common Questions

The SMB retainer starts at $800 per month and covers tested updates, security monitoring, performance tracking, and a monthly development hour allocation. The Enterprise retainer starts at $2,000 per month and includes a higher development hour allocation, faster response times, architecture-level involvement, and code review for work done by internal teams.
Additional hours are available at the standard retainer rate. I will flag this before going over the allocation so there are no unexpected charges at the end of the month.
Via Slack or email, depending on your preference. I provide a monthly check-in call as part of the retainer. You have direct access to me, no account managers or intermediaries.
Three months. This gives enough time to audit the platform, stabilize the most pressing issues, and establish a working rhythm. Most partnerships continue well beyond that.
Yes. Many clients start with an audit or a defined project, and a retainer follows naturally once the scope of ongoing need becomes clear. A Strategy Session is a good first step if you are not yet sure what you need.
Yes. I have worked alongside agencies that handle design and content while I own the engineering. If there is overlap with your existing team, we clarify scope during onboarding so there are no gaps or conflicts.
